BIG SW

Looks as if we've got the usual story- SW going to klap through late tomorrow, blow all night and stuff-up the sea... continue blowing on Sat but the sea is a churning mess. Bit of a pain.

I'm avaiable for tomorrow afternon but I reckon it'll only hit about 5pm. Otherwise I'll be ready for a berg wind at middies tomorrow morning. It's not huge predictions but with a big SW coming it is often stronger than predicted.

I'm out for Sat unfortunately.... otherwise we could potentially have done the slalom thing in the bay. Next time.

Great sailing today, guys! 5 windsurfers out and no-one else in sight. Turned out to be quite an impressive SW! I measured avg 29 knots gusting to 34 when I arrived and I'm pretty sure it picked up and was certainly stronger over the sea.

4.5 fully (yes, til the rope breaks, mr C) downhauled still pretty overpowered and gybes out the back were tricky but in the end we sailed N of the rocks and it was pretty smooth on the inside.

Jumps were easy to find but I'm so nervous of breaking boards that mine are a bit pansy. Saw a couple of decent loops and some good stuff from the other guys. I'm not mentioning names here because I'm never sure how legit these work-time sails are for some participants!

Waverides tricky in the overpowered conditions but all in all a great sail. Thanks guys, I needed that one! Looking forward to the next.

Yes, that was a big one. plenty of wind ! Too much for me in the end so i called it a day early.

Now we sit and wait for another 14 days till the next SW arrives..
