Clear the diaries, Sunday's looking good.

Hey, I enjoyed yesterday's session. Arrived just before 12 and measured avg 19 knots at the water. Waves were small but a little messy.

Ralph and Reuben were already there - Ralph on 5.6 and Reuben on 5.4.

I rigged 5.0 and 91l wave board. By the time I got to the water it was lulling a bit but it seemed to come and go all afternoon like that. A bit gusty in that sense but not too much of a problem.

I was powered most of the time... sometimes you struggled a bit on the inside in the white water because of the impressive sidewash and trying to float in the foam but most of the time the 5.0 worked for me.

Jumps were fair if you had the pace to hit the ramps... there were a few ramps beyond backline because of the swell direction which was cool, waves not great but not too intimidating either. It's still quite shallow on the inside at Baggies at the moment so if you're messing about there it's advisable to avoid your kit rolling too much in the breakers.

I had a great time, though. Sailed for about 2.5 hours and then called it quits.

Very busy day down at the beach with all and Sundry coming out... I guess it was the last weekend of the school holidays. Still, no problems... it was a bit crowded at times with some of the non-local kiters getting in the way but most of the time plenty of space and no issues.

Roll on the rest of 2010 sailing!

Nice one, glad you boys had a sail. The airport graph looked good all day yesterday.

I spent a few days camping up at wagonsdrift. Had a few good sessions on my big kit. 8.0m and 140L board. Nice to blast about for a change. no white water to worry about...

Looking forward to wind later in the week

Agreed, I still enjoy a good burn at the dams... relaxing (stress-wise) but still a good workout and a good thrill and you can still push it and there's always room for improvement.

Gareth, how did you get on at CC?

I sailed at Country Club for about 2.5 hours. Sidewash was very strong so getting past the 1st 30 metres was the only real challange. Nice ramps, and plenty of wind. I rigged my 5.8 and am pretty glad I did. It helped to have some power on the inside.
